  • Conquian Theory: According to Rummy history, we can say that this game was played for “Rum” (a whisky or an alcoholic drink) during 1930s and so this game was named Rummy. Regarding Rummy’s evolution, many historians have different views and all are not agreed to one theory. Some historians say that Rummy was made-up in Spain (there it was known as Ramy) and then came to Mexico. And, others say that it was invented in Mexico and was played with a Spanish card deck of 40 cards. Also in the book “The Penguin Book of Card Games”, 1978 written by David Parlett, written that the Rummy game has come out from the Mexican game of Conquian.

  • In British "Rum" is used for odd or unusual or curious, could be the first opinion for the Rummy game’s technicalities.

  • Some few historical facts about Rummy is that this game was first written in book by Hoyle in the nineteenth century.
