Rummy, the family of card games which are the most played
game all over the world and very popular among the players. The people of

Origin of Rummy
We ought to know the foundation of Rummy, as without knowing

that this game was played for “Rum” (a whisky or an alcoholic drink)
during 1930s and so this game was named Rummy. Regarding Rummy’s
evolution, many historians have different views and all are not agreed
to one theory. Some historians say that Rummy was made-up in Spain
(there it was known as Ramy) and then came to Mexico. And, others say
that it was invented in Mexico and was played with a Spanish card deck
of 40 cards. Also in the book “The Penguin Book of Card Games”, 1978
written by David Parlett, written that the Rummy game has come out from
the Mexican game of Conquian.

first written in book by Hoyle in the nineteenth century.

we will know the real origination of Rummy, but Rummy is really an
interesting game and inexpensive as well. People can play this game

Since only 2 players can also play the game so the game is
very popular.
Objective of the Game Rummy
The objective of the game is to make sets and runs of 3 or
more cards of the same kind or suits to win the game. The play of the
Rummy game is started by the player and in each turn a dealer is chosen by
drawing system. The game begins from left side of the dealer. Each player
starts his turn with a draw and ends with discard. A player chooses to
draw a card and he can draw it either from the top of discard pile or from
the stock pile.
